Betfred Championship Preview | Round 17

Betfred Championship Preview | Round 17

Round 17 of the Betfred Championship has arrived!

The action gets underway with a triple-header on Saturday.

Firstly, Midlands host Swinton. The Hurricanes might be sitting nine places above their Round 17 opponents, but if we cast our minds back to Round 12, it was the Lions who pulled off a magnificent win against the Hurricanes - their first of the season too!

Also on Saturday, Goole host Keighley. Both teams will be looking to bounce back after suffering heavy defeats in the previous round.

As part of Men’s Health Week, Vikings players will wear a special charity kit take to the field against the Cougars, carrying the names of their teammates and friends on the back of their shirts instead of their own.

It a powerful statement iwill be n the club’s #GotYourBack campaign, in support of official charity partner Men's Mental Health Group (MMHG).

The third game sees Barrow Raiders back on home soil against Dewsbury Rams.

The Raiders are undefeated in their last four home meetings with the Rams, having won three and drawn one.

On Sunday, Oldham take on Batley. The Roughyeds are currently fourth in the table - just two points behind Newcastle and Barrow, so know how important two points on offer are here.

A high-flying Newcastle take on Rochdale and are searching for a seventh straight win in the competition. Thunder have scored a staggering 335 attacking points in their last six matches.

Then, Widnes travel to play Hunslet, and have won their last five away meetings there. Halifax are on the road to Colwyn Bay to face North Wales Crusaders, whilst Workington make the trip down to Salford.

It was a 52-10 victory in Town’s favour last time out, but the Reds have improved massively since then.

Finally, Sheffield host Whitehaven.
